A challenge/meme from [info]suzanne219 - My Top 10 Songs beginning with "C". It was a tougher than I imagined-

1. Captain Saint Lucifer - Laura Nyro
2. Cuckoo's Nest - John Spiers and Jon Boden (and the Blackheath Morris version)
3. Cue Fanfare - Prefab Sprout
4. Claudy Banks - The Copper Family
5. Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten - Arvo Part
6. Cars - To Roccoco Rot
7. Chain Smoking - Vic Godard/Subway Sect
8. The Champions Theme Tune - Tony Hatch
9. Can Cladders - The High Llamas
10.Clube Da Esquina - Milton Nascimento

The meme runs that you leave a comment to be given a letter, and then do one youself...

Re: Top ten Cs
Yes indeed, Caravan is a fine tune.

D'you know, I thought if you were going to raise an eyebrow to anything, it would be the REM number (which is of course slathered in tremolo and feedback and has Thurston Moore on guest vocals and hence one of the few REM songs I like)

Oh, go on then. Might not be as definitive as a TOP ten, but hopefully it'll be interesting !

I always get teary when I hear Caroline by Robert Wyatt. Oh Caroline by Brian Wilson does not count but I like that as well.

I was going to have "O Caroline" (by Matching Mole), but the "O" put pain to that. "Caroline, No" on the other hand was a sorry omission.

I forgot about the 'O' and the Matching Mole as well...

Did you ever hear the Minnow version?

Or indeed the Bellowhead take (arranged by Pete Flood)?
