Bio
My name is Richard Sanderson.

I'm interested in lots of things, most of which get written about on here.

I'm a real ale-drinking morris dancer, I play the melodeon and the computer, I like experimental music, and treasure "enlightenment values". As of 2009 I do not have a day job, and insteadI'm a "househusband", I'm married to the lovely Ruth, and we have two young children.

I used to present "Little Atoms" a radio show about science, politics and philosophy, broadcast on Resonance 104.4 FM, all the old shows are available to download from the Little Atoms Website

I dance with Blackheath Morris Men

I play noisy experimental rock with Lost Robots, traditional English music with Mixed Porter improvised music with Homler Beresford Sanderson, and solo performances of songs and/or improvised music under my own name.

I waste the remaining hours collecting vinyl records, listening to post-punk, classical and traditional music, collecting space toys and 3D viewers and staring, mesmerized, at translucent perspex things.

I have never had, nor will I ever have, a beard.

I've lived in London for 24 years, but I'm originally from Middlesbrough, in the North East of England.

This Blog has a few ongoing regular features which can be accessed seperately

1. The Music Questionnaires. Various musicians from a wide variety of disciplines and styles answer questions.

2. Corkboards a growing gallery of friend's corkboards and the ephemera pinned on them.

3. The Advent Series - inspired by the WFMU "365 Days project"- for every day of advent you get an unusual soundfile, and a picture of my advent calendar.

For other topics I suggest you try the exhaustive Tags Page and select a topic (think of it like an index)

I bet you're dying to know what I look like- well here I am in multiple, about 8 years ago, that's enough, surely...

Some Quotes about me-

Spoombung says-
"Morris dancing, atheist humanist, promoter, prolific crank-bashing poster and unique musician, Richard Sanderson''s site is always worth a visit. Check out his monthly experimental, musical guests at his Scaledown club and get inside his mind. This man has put cool back into political moderation"

Thomas Truax says-
"Richard Sanderson who hosts the
night is great, he's like the London's version of Irwin Chusid, even physically to a degree, championing obscure, strange and wonderful music from all over the
map..."

Time Out has called me "A Toy Rattling Maniac" and an "Electronic Guru"

Dan Warburton in the Paris Review said I "flirt deliciously with the fringes of soft techno"

Everett True said I "played some very sweet and haunting laptop electronica, hidden among the rafters" and that I "deserved more attention for sure"

AC Grayling said of "Little Atoms" "Music to my ears, that radio show of yours: you are a shining candle in a dark world.", which was very nice of him.

Mark Spybey said "When Richard says something, he most certainly means it. I love his honesty, even after we've clashed swords everything always feels all right between us."

Damian Thompson (leader writer for The Daily Telegraph) - called me "a dyed-in-the-wool leftie"

MJD of 9/11 and 7/7 conspiracy theorists We Are Change UK - ""you have zero interest in rudimentary elements of logic, interpretation, comprehension, integrity, and common sense"
